Tyler Smith Owings 

Hi there! Welcome to my about page. My work flow combines drawing on paper and digital illustration to create bold illustrations full of color, movement, and spectacle. I see my work as a mixture of my love of nature, comic books, animation, and those heightened moments where life feels bigger and more magical than it normally feels.

I grew up catching fireflies on an overgrown Christmas tree farm in central Illinois. After graduating High School, I moved to Savannah, Georgia to attend Savannah College of Art and Design. I was evacuated after a day after I arrived because of a hurricane, but four years later, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Illustration and minors in art history and drawing. I now live in Portland, OR with my boyfriend Jake and cat Zelda. When not at the drafting table or computer, I can be found hiking, biking, baking, gardening, or throwing pots in the ceramics studio.
